Paper explorations for wine label







Found the amazing and innovative paper explorations above in TheDieline.com. I feel that the simplicity color and the fancy paper fold concept made them have Japanese feeling.

Those designs from Sylvain Allard's packaging students.

"To begin our session and create a complete immersion in the world of packaging, I invited the students to do this exercise during the first course this year. The two-dimensional sheet of paper takes shape and becomes a volume. Therefore, shadows and light act on the white surface and create an image.

From a single sheet of paper, they should design a label for a bottle of wine. Through manipulation, bending, cutouts, and mechanisms or in repeated patterns and structures, they should create an image consisting solely of paper. All work should explore the potential of the paper and printing was not allowed.

Since it was meant to be an exploration to push the limits of paper. Transportation constraints, marketing and handling were not an endpoint. In contrast, research, innovation, virtuosity, originality and skill were the criteria for evaluation." (quoted from TheDieline.com)

一天裡的歐亞 (下: 歐)

Antoine + Manwel Graphic Village



1993年組成的法國設計組合
跟BYOB的調子是完全對比
走進一個色彩斑斕但帶黑色(幽默)
造型獨特有趣 很Camp但帶點邪惡的
成人"兒童樂園"
是純美感 令人愉快的觀賞過程

朋友講得頗有理:
在亞洲社會例如中國
因為文化的不成熟所以作品不停地反思
歐洲的卻更多是關於型式和享樂...






一天裡的歐亞 (上: 亞 )

其實早就想去看這兩個展覽
但一直發懶zzzz
昨天正值休假
又是最近難得的好天氣
於是花了半天
怱怱走完這個歐亞的藝術旅程

BYOB 09香港深圳城巿建築雙城雙年展

首先就視覺系統來說
我花了一些時間才知道這個展覽的題目
除了海報小小的中文字
真的不知道是有關建築

不過場地西九龍海濱長廊旁
帶點荒蕪的空地
本身頗有趣
背景是九龍機鐵站上蓋的住宅物業羣
這組物業一直的不停增建
所以越來越密集 亦越來越醜
高=貴
臨海=身份
就是由這裡開始
所以在這個"優越"地段建得越來越擠越來越高
財源當然一直滾一直滾
唉 這便是香港的悲哀

就這次的展覽作品來說
這組"新潮建築"
卻是很好的反諷襯托

例如作品"九龍城寨在西九"
(正確作品名稱沒記下)
我會解讀為"新舊城寨"
作者把九龍城寨的外觀縮小(事實體績也不小)
作成模型 一面牆壁保留一比一舊廁所"風貎"
它們的本質本來是相反 -
一個是被迫 一個是自願
雖然有天國與地獄的況味
但結果很相似 -
都是自成一角 與世阻絕地擠在一起
